Sustainability in Focus: A Triad Approach with USAID, LISA, and KU.

The Localisation, Inclusion, and Sustainability Activity (LISA) delegation, in collaboration with the USAID HERO PROJECT, convened at Kenyatta University to conduct a swift evaluation and engage in deliberations aimed at pinpointing organisational needs for advancement. Spearheaded by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation, and Outreach), Prof. Caroline Thoruwa, underscored the transformative influence of the project on society, citing the exemplary impact in Elgeyo Marakwet.

Currently, there are ongoing initiatives at the county level spanning across 10 counties, including Kwale, Kilifi, Taita-Taveta, Kajiado, Meru, Nyandarua, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, and Baringo, with Elgeyo Marakwet included. These endeavors are aimed at securing the longevity of achievements. Nzoya Munguti, the Activity Manager at USAID Kenya, and Lennah Kanyangi, responsible for Local Partner Capacity Development at USAID, Kenya and East Africa, highlighted the promising collaborations poised to yield long-term benefits within and beyond the partnership of Kenyatta University, LISA, and USAID.Read on
